When I paint I am always conscious of movement. Dance is my other passion in life–it makes me feel truly alive. My painting is about capturing this passionate joy of life that I experience while moving to music.
If you were to come by my studio while I was painting, the first thing you would notice is loud music.
I tend to fall in love with an album and play it over and over again until I am finished the painting.
The second thing you would notice is that I am moving and dancing in between each stroke of the palette knife or brush. I am inspired by all kinds of music and dance: from tango to hip hop, from classical cello to techno.
Painting is an extension of music, dance, and how I experience nature. My colours are intuitive and my aim is to provoke imagination and an emotional engagement with my art.
